3 things you can do to strengthen this friendship

This friendship day will be the beginning of something special. A special relationship between you and your little one will blossom. Do you want to know how? Keep reading! Here we are going to talk about 3 things every parent should try and do to strengthen their relation with their little one.

Interact:

Don’t just talk to your child but, interact. Be more mindful of what you are saying to him or her. Listen to the subtle cues he or she is giving. Be aware of their true needs. There is one easy way to do all this and, that is by incorporating a daily ritual of reading a book together, spending time outdoors or simply chatting at the dinner table. This way you get to know their likes and dislikes and therefore, know them more.

Involve:

Kids want our attention as much as we want theirs. Often times in this struggle for attention, we forget to have fun. You can teach your child important life lessons simply by getting more involved. As vague as it may sound, it all boils down to one simple mantra, 'spend more time with your child'. You will be delighted to find out that by being present, your child will actually start listening to you. The shift from a parent to a friend brings many positive changes in the parent-kid dynamic.

Inspire:

Children try and emulate us as a parent. They pick up cues on how we talk, think and present ourselves. What this means to you as a parent is that you have plenty of opportunity to influence your child in a positive manner. For example, if your child sees you being polite with others, he or she will start doing the same. You may not see the change from day one but, it will surely come. Doing these things on a regular basis will open a channel of communication that you didn’t know existed before. This will help you and your child become BFFs in the literal sense. The funny thing that you will discover along the way is that you will have a ton of fun with your child. As you continue to bond with your kid and nurture this bond, you will see your relationship truly take off. At the end of the day, it is not about disciplining your child but, about understanding his personality. It is about knowing them better and using this information to solidify the understanding you share.

This friendship day make new memories and revisit old ones. Go out on a date with your kid and rekindle your child like spirit! It is only the beginning of something amazing! Happy Friendship Day!!
