1. Leah Davies
She received her Master's Degree from the Department of Counseling and Counseling Psychology, Auburn University. She has been dedicated to the well-being of children for over 44 years as a certified teacher, counselor, prevention specialist, parent, and grandparent. Her professional experience includes teaching, counseling, consulting, instructing at Auburn University, and directing educational and prevention services at a mental health agency.
 
Besides the Kelly Bear resources, Leah has written articles that have appeared in The American School Counseling Association Counselor, The School Counselor, Elementary School Guidance and Counseling Journal, Early Childhood News, and National Head Start Association Journal. She has presented workshops at the following national professional meetings: American School Counselor Association; Association for Childhood Education International; National Association for the Education of Young Children; National Child Care Association; National Head Start Association; National School-Age Child Care Alliance Conference.

2. Gail Hennessey - Gail Skroback Hennessey
Educator Gail Skroback Hennessey taught school for 33 1/2 years.  Gail earned her MST degree in Social Studies Education. She was awarded the Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Classroom Teacher of the Year Award from the New York State Council for the Social Studies. Additionally, she was awarded the Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year Award by the National Council for the Social Studies.

Her work has appeared in most children’s publications including: Time for Kids, Scholastic News, Highlights for Children, National Geographic Kids, Ranger Rick, Contact Kids, US Kids, Action Magazine, Girls’ Life, Boys’s Life , American Girl, Ask Magazine, Dig, Calliope, Cobblestone, FACES, Studies Weekly, Jack and Jill,Science World and Muse Magazines.

Over the years, Gail gave many workshops both at the local and state levels sharing her enthusiasm for teaching, especially social studies, with other educators. She developed curriculum in the area of social studies education and her work for teachers appeared regularly  in Instructor Magazine, Creative Classroom and Middle Years. After retiring from the classroom, Gail worked as an adjunct profession for six years working with young people planning to enter the field of education.

Gail is also the author of 34 books for children including Aadarsh Publishing Company’s Purple Turtle and Colour Fairies book series. Her biographical plays on famous people have been published by Scholastic Books, Cottonwood Press, Social Studies School Service( Interact Division)  and Teacher’s Created Materials. Her latest book, Interviews with Ancient History was published in Spring/2016.

Gail believes in an academic environment which enriches children’s curiosity of the world with making learning engaging with self-text-connections, the Socratic teaching method and  hands-on learning.

Gail and Purple Turtle share a love of all things purple!


3. Sangeeta Magan
With over 25 years of experience in Training and Development and Administration, in the Corporate Sector and the Academic Sector at different levels. Known for communicating and training with a zest and energy that is highly contagious, I have been training Law, Engineering and Management students with special emphasis on Soft Skills and Personality.

I am regularly delivering training modules at The Bureau of Parliamentary Services and Training, Lok Sabha for the Middle Level officers of Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies.

I have also planned, developed and delivered training to teachers at various schools in Delhi and the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, including many Defense Schools.

I also have to my credit three books on Business Communication which deal with all aspects of communication required for guiding students from the campus to the corporate sector and today’s Business world.

 

4. Dennys McCoy
Dennys McCoy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and Theatre from the University of Arizona. In Los Angeles he partnered with Pamela Hickey and the writing team has since written over 1,000 produced scripts for TV and feature films. He specializes in (but is not limited to) children’s and Young Adult animation for the international community. In addition, he has co-written one novel in partnership with Pamela Hickey (Nick Post: Private Detective).

He has been nominated 5 times for the Emmy Award in animation (one win), has won 2 British BAFTAS and two PULCINELLAS (Italy’s Cartoons By the Bay), the Chicago Film Festival’s Silver Hugo Award, the Golden Angel Award (for family entertainment), and the New York Festival TV Broadcasting Award (Silver). He has written for every continent on Earth excluding Antarctica. Dennys McCoy is married to Pamela Hickey and they have one child, Elizabeth Katherine Hickey-McCoy, a chef and food anthropologist.

 

5. Pamela Hickey
